Dr. Christopher Ryan Maboloc, associate professor at Ateneo de Davao University, described as a “sinister plot” the recent legal actions against certain senators, including Senator Rodante Marcoleta, which coincided with the ongoing impeachment proceedings against Vice President Sara Duterte.
Maboloc revealed that the current leadership in the Senate is “fragile,” particularly under Senate President Alan Peter Cayetano, making the timing of these cases highly questionable.
He suggested that the simultaneous filing of cases against some senators raises suspicions of possible motives behind the move.
For Maboloc, it is difficult to dismiss the perception that these developments may be part of a coordinated effort targeting the Senate majority.
