The Young Free Workers, through interim president Norvin Gavino, urged senators especially the majority bloc to uphold fairness and base their decisions strictly on evidence in the impeachment trial against Vice President Sara Duterte.
Gavino emphasized that proving the justice system’s strength and credibility depends on a transparent, evidence‑based process rather than political interests.
He warned that failure to demonstrate impartiality could raise public doubts about the country’s justice system and potentially strengthen arguments for bringing cases against former President Rodrigo Duterte and Senator Ronald “Bato” dela Rosa before the International Criminal Court (ICC).
The group’s appeal: show that the Philippine justice system has “teeth” by ensuring transparency and credibility in the impeachment proceedings.
