The Student Council Alliance of the Philippines (SCAP) has yet to receive a response from the Department of Education and the Commission on Higher Education regarding its petition challenging the implementation of fully optional online classes due to the worsening fuel and energy crisis.

SCAP National Chairperson Angela Dia-Martin stressed in an interview with Bombo Radyo that students should first be consulted before such policies are enforced. She urged agencies to conduct surveys instead of deciding unilaterally.

The group acknowledged the government’s energy-saving measures but appealed for support such as internet vouchers, free transportation to schools, and lower fares so students feel their sector is being prioritized.
