The Union of People’s in Mindanao, through Atty. Joel Mahinay, stated that there is no reason to complain about Vice President Sara Duterte being “pressured” by the ongoing impeachment complaints in the House of Representatives.
Mahinay explained that it is proper for VP Sara to confront the allegations directly, as she herself can provide clarity before the impeachment court if the charges are elevated to the Senate.
He emphasized that the impeachment complaint should not come as a surprise, since it is a political process allowed under the Constitution.
This perspective underscores the view that impeachment is not merely an attack, but a legitimate mechanism for accountability within the country’s democratic system.
