The Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) confirmed that Vice President Sara Duterte was listed as a stockholder and member of the Board of Directors of Metro City Chow Foods Corporation from 2022 to 2025.
Because of this, Cagayan de Oro City 1st District Representative Lordan Suan argued that the Vice President violated the Constitution.
Suan pointed to Section 13, Article 7 of the Constitution, which prohibits the Vice President from directly or indirectly participating in business enterprises such as Metro City Chow Foods Corporation.
SEC Director Atty. Gerardo Del Rosario also disclosed that 500 shares of stock were registered under the name “Sara Zimmerman Duterte,” which he confirmed refers to Vice President Sara Duterte.
