A massive fire swept through a warehouse at the DD Toys Warehouse in the Moreno Building along Gaabucayan Street, Barangay Lapasan, Cagayan de Oro City, causing an estimated ₱10 million in structural damage.
Fire Investigator SFO2 Ky Nicole Reyes confirmed that the fire originated in the southeastern section of the building. He clarified that the initial loss estimate covers structural damage only and excludes stored merchandise.
Firefighters faced heavy smoke and burning plastic and rubber materials, prompting them to breach a rear door for ventilation and deploy chemical foam.
Authorities raised the incident to a fourth alarm as seven BFP engines and nine volunteer fire trucks responded to extinguish the blaze. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
