Misamis Oriental Board Member and Majority Floor Leader Dexter Yasay brushed off Governor Juliette Uy’s remarks regarding the mining controversy now reaching the Senate.

In an interview with Bombo Radyo, Yasay clarified that the provincial board’s hearing was not intended to attack the governor’s office but to shed light on why capitol-owned equipment was discovered at suspected mining sites in Initao.

Yasay emphasized that names have surfaced in connection with the issue, and if proven that individuals linked to Governor Uy authorized the use of provincial equipment for mining, it would be a clear violation of the law.
