Jerome Adonis of Kilusang Mayo Uno denounced Senator Sherwin Gatchalian’s proposal to limit workdays to four per week as a way to cut fuel expenses.
Adonis argued it is unjust for workers to bear the burden of a crisis they did not cause, especially if forced to endure 12-hour shifts to complete the standard 48-hour workload.
He described the plan as a scheme that shifts the impact of rising petroleum prices onto ordinary laborers, while politicians focus on their own interests.
Adonis urged workers and citizens to voice their opposition and resist government measures that would harm the lives of everyday Filipinos.
