The devaluation of life in society is one of the main reasons why violent crimes continue in the country, according to human rights lawyer Atty. Dino de Leon.
He explained that because the use of violence has been normalized over the past decade, many people now do not hesitate to commit crimes.
He stated that due to this culture, justice and respect for the law have been lost because many believe that taking another’s life is now the “easier” path.
However, the lawyer clarified that while crimes were higher during the previous administration, the police are now simply more active in documenting and arresting offenders.
