Atty. Joseph R. Sereño of Sereño Law Office defended the registered firearms held by Vice President Sara Duterte and her husband, Atty. Mans Carpio, asserting that licensed ownership does not constitute a violation of law.
Sereño clarified that current statutes permit individuals with Class E licenses to own up to 25 firearms, a limit justified by the legitimate security requirements of the country’s second-highest official.
He criticized the prosecution for introducing firearms inventory during hearings on unexplained wealth, arguing that the topic is being used to amplify grave threat allegations rather than address primary charges.
