Police authorities confiscated smuggled cigarettes worth more than ₱1 million in three separate operations in Lanao del Norte and Misamis Occidental.
According to the Police Regional Office 10, the contraband amounted to ₱1,001,600 during operations conducted from July 21 to July 22 this year. Four individuals were arrested, with some caught hiding cigarettes in secret compartments of their vehicles.
Police Brigadier General Christopher N. Abrahano said checkpoints and intelligence-driven operations will continue to strengthen the fight against illegal trade in Northern Mindanao.
He commended all police units for their joint efforts and vigilance in guarding the region’s borders.
