The city government has pledged to deliver much-needed assistance to hundreds of families affected by the massive fire that struck San Isidro Labrado and Lapaz 1 in Barangay Lapasan, as well as Saint John in Barangay Puntod.
City Mayor Rolando “Klarex” Uy’s spokesperson, Janboy Actub, announced that the executive office will request the city council to allow the use of the quick response calamity fund for the affected families. Actub also confirmed that the remains of a resident who died from a heart attack during the fire are being properly attended to.
Currently, the victims are temporarily sheltered at the covered court while awaiting further aid to help them gradually rebuild their homes, which sustained an estimated ₱2 million worth of structural damage.
