Former Magdalo Partylist Representative Gary Alejano questioned the credibility of the joint affidavit submitted by 18 former members of the Philippine Marines in connection with a controversial allegation.

In an interview with Bombo Radyo, Alejano argued that such a collective affidavit would be difficult to stand in legal proceedings since each of the 18 soldiers had different personal experiences and observations of the events.

He pointed out that they were not always together during the more than two years in question, meaning some may not have directly witnessed certain incidents included in the affidavit.

Alejano stressed that individual affidavits would have been more appropriate, as they would clearly establish each testimony and strengthen the evidence in case of criminal charges.

He further noted that parts of the statements appeared vague, raising doubts about whether the complaint was a solid legal case or merely a political propaganda tool.
