An anti-drug operation led by the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency Regional Office X (PDEA RO 10), in coordination with the Camiguin Provincial Office, PNP PDEU Camiguin, and Catarman Municipal Police Station, resulted in the arrest of a sitting Barangay Kagawad identified as Alias “Wawad,” a 31-year-old resident of Barangay Bonbon, Catarman, Camiguin.
The buy-bust took place on August 23, 2025, at 10:25 AM in Purok 1, Sto. Niño, Catarman.
Authorities seized approximately 6.5 grams of suspected shabu contained in five heat-sealed plastic sachets, along with an Android phone, a black wallet, and marked buy-bust money.
The suspect now faces charges under Article II of Republic Act 9165, the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
