Bong Arceo, Chairman of the LPTC Cooperative, voiced strong disappointment with President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. over what he described as a lack of concrete action to support the public transportation sector.

In an interview, Arceo said drivers have long been waiting for the approval of fare increases and other forms of assistance, but no decisive measures have been taken.

He noted that the delay in government decisions has left drivers struggling with high fuel prices and rising operational costs.

While the administration has announced a partial fare increase, Arceo stressed that this has not provided immediate relief for commuters or drivers.

He urged the government to deliver clear and timely solutions to improve transport services and ease the burden on drivers, emphasizing that transportation should be a priority to ensure quality service for the public.

The LPTC continues to monitor petitions and applications for fare adjustments as national leadership remains slow to act.

According to Arceo, the confusion and lengthy process have caused significant hardship for stakeholders and the riding public who depend on public transport.
