CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY (UPDATE) – Cagayan de Oro City Police Office (COCPO) is now investigating the fatal crash of a van carrying more than twenty (20) police trainees under the Regional Police Training Center in Camp Alagar, in Barangay Gusa, this city.
According to Police Sergeant Junel Monterola, traffic investigator of Agora Police Station, the civilian driver confessed that he was unsure if there was brake system of the van was working properly.
While travelling on a sloppy area, the driver unmanaged to manipulate the van that resulted into a deadly crash.
Sgt. Monterolla confirmed the death of two police trainees, while among the injured were the driver and his civillian assistant.
Police are yet ready to divulge the names of the victims after kins are notified.
Wounded passengers were transported to a private hospital nearby.
Authorities are still investigating the incident to determine the cause of the deadly crash.
