Authorities in New York have declared a heat emergency to protect residents from extreme weather conditions.
According to Bombo International Correspondent Dolly Ilogon, temperatures have reached 94 degrees Fahrenheit and are expected to rise to 110 degrees in the coming days.
The mayor urged the public to stay indoors with air conditioning and drink plenty of water to avoid dehydration and other health risks.
The heatwave has also affected nearly one-third of the United States, including Washington D.C., Boston, and Nashville.
