CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY – Police Regional Office 10 (PRO10) has significantly increased police presence and patrol operations across Northern Mindanao.

This is in response to a directive from PNP Chief, PGEN ROMMEL FRANCISCO D MARBIL.

This directive, announced on June 19, 2024, mandates all police stations to enhance patrols.

These includes foot patrols, Oplan Galugad (focused roving operations), motorcycle patrols, and Oplan Sita (checkpoint operations).

This aims to heighten police visibility and ensure a swift response to incidents throughout the country.

To achieve this, PGEN MARBIL ordered 85% of all police personnel to be actively engaged in field duties.

Thus, reducing the number of officers on administrative tasks.

PBGEN RICARDO G LAYUG JR, Regional Director of PRO10, strongly supports the directive.

He emphasizes its importance in deterring crime and improving community safety.

“I fully support the PNP Chief’s call to intensify police presence and patrols”, he said

“This is a crucial step in guaranteeing the safety and security of our communities,” he added

“By increasing our visibility and response readiness, we aim to create a safer and more progressive environment for everyone to live, work, and invest.”

PBGEN LAYUG JR. also encourages the public to cooperate with the police and report any suspicious activities they witness.

Residents can report to their nearest police station or through PRO10’s official communication channels to help maintain peace and order in the region.
