The Police Regional Office 10 successfully seized an estimated ₱920,000 worth of smuggled cigarettes during two checkpoint operations on July 5, 2026.
Regional Director PBGEN Christopher N. Abrahano reported that 10 master cases of Fort cigarettes worth ₱400,000 were confiscated in Linamon, Lanao del Norte, while 650 reams of Red New Berlin cigarettes valued at ₱520,000 were seized in Bonifacio, Misamis Occidental.
Abrahano said the operations highlight the effectiveness of strengthened border control in preventing illegal shipments that deprive the government of proper taxes.
He urged the public to remain vigilant and report any smuggling activities to maintain peace and security in Northern Mindanao.
